Based on the manga series "Sukitte Ii nayo" by Kanae Hazuki (first published April, 2008 by monthly magazine Dessert).

Mei Tachibana is a relatively reclusive High School student who has shut off making friends due to an incident that happened earlier in her school years. In an effort to get away from someone pulling on her uniform skirt she kicks and injures the most popular boy in School Yamato Kurosawa.

OAL: I loved this anime so much I remembered it as a Live action. There is a 2014 movie of this story out there.
